Samsung announced Galaxy SmartTag3 on September 30, with finding functions spanning Galaxy phones and iPhones. That support does not mean identical features. Samsung's documentation excludes Compass View, Ring Phone and Left Behind Alert on iOS.
The distinction separates access to a tracking application from access to every tracking method. Core finding and sharing use SmartThings Find. Directional guidance depends on qualifying phone hardware, while remote location updates depend on participating devices nearby. Compatibility therefore has several separate conditions.
DIT AgTech Doesn’t Need to Sell Hardware to Make Money.
One installation can generate years of recurring supplement revenue.
DIT AgTech provides the hardware free to ranchers through a three-year nutrition plan. The hardware gets installed once. The supplements keep generating revenue year after year.
Then there’s the second paycheck.
Methane reduction is becoming an economic opportunity for agriculture.
Methane-reducing nutrition create carbon credits, giving ranchers another income stream while creating an additional revenue opportunity for DIT AgTech.
That means one connected livestock operation generates recurring supplement revenue, with carbon revenue as additional upside.
We win when ranchers win.
The model is already working in Australia, one of the world's toughest livestock environments, with 500+ units deployed and 370,000 head on the platform.
Now DIT AgTech brings that proven model to the massive U.S. livestock market.
For investors, the opportunity is getting in before the model scales into its next market.

Compass View requires a Galaxy device running Android 12 or later with ultra-wideband or Bluetooth Channel Sounding support. Samsung currently lists four phones for Channel Sounding. They are Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, S26 Ultra and S26 Plus. Future support is possible, not confirmed for every phone. Samsung says availability can also vary by country, region and device, even where the required hardware exists.
Samsung describes a Channel Sounding detection range of up to 60 metres. That measurement assumes an unobstructed line of sight between transmitter and receiver. Walls, nearby electronics and physical obstacles can reduce range and accuracy. The published ceiling is not an indoor performance promise.
Battery figures also need their test conditions. Samsung claims up to 550 days in standard operation and 790 days in Power Saving Mode. These are simulated consumption estimates from internal laboratory testing. The tests used a prerelease device and its included CR2032 battery, rather than a completed multiyear field study.
Actual endurance can vary with usage, surroundings and replacement battery manufacturer. Power Saving Mode also changes what remains accessible. Basic Bluetooth LE finding continues, but Compass View, volume adjustments and ringtone settings may become unavailable. The longer estimate describes a restricted configuration, not unchanged functionality.

Outside direct connection range, Samsung's Galaxy Find Network supplies another finding route. The company reports more than 900 million participating Galaxy devices worldwide. Its footnotes qualify location update timing by nearby participants, network conditions, settings and region. That total does not establish uninterrupted coverage at any particular location.
Notification features carry further limits. Place Notification is a trial function that reports movement into or outside a defined area. Samsung cautions that the displayed location may differ from the actual position. Movement Detection Alert operates only when the tag is disconnected from its associated device.
That alert relies on nearby Galaxy devices with Offline finding enabled. Notifications can arrive late or fail to arrive, depending on surroundings and participating devices. Location History retains records for up to seven days, then deletes older entries. These conditions matter when interpreting a missing alert or incomplete route.
Lost Mode uses previously registered contact information. A finder needs an NFC-capable device and an internet connection to display it. Left Behind Alert can produce false alerts when obstacles interrupt the phone connection. Samsung also describes encrypted location data; this announcement is not an independent privacy certification.
Physical protection has boundaries too. Samsung's IP67 conditions cover immersion up to one metre for up to 30 minutes. Resistance can diminish over time, and the company discourages beach or pool use. The lithium coin battery presents a swallowing hazard. Suspected swallowing requires immediate emergency medical or veterinary attention.
Availability starts in Korea on October 7, followed by the United States and additional markets in 2027. The global announcement gives no exact American launch date. This technology check-in keeps platform, measurement and coverage conditions visible, so device specifications remain useful information rather than assumed performance.
